Criteria for an Accredited Investor

Definition of Accredited Investor:

Accredited Investor is defined in Section 4A(1)(a) of the Securities and Futures Act (SFA), Chapter 289.

Individual

1. Net Personal assets exceeding SGD 2 million (or equivalent in foreign currency). Or

2. Income in preceding 12 months of not less than SGD 300,000 (or equivalent in foreign currency).

 

Process for determination of the Financial status of Investor: 
  • Net Personal Assets
The investor needs to submit one of the following documents as proof for his Net Personal Assets

(i) Property:

· Property title deed

· Property valuation report less than 6 months old from recognized valuers

(ii)  Owner’s Equity:

· Latest audited annual accounting report of the company (audit report by the Big Fours and/or recognized registered audit company in the country)

(iii) Personal Investment/Savings:

· Latest investment portfolio statement (as at market value)

· Latest bank statement

  • Annual Income

The investor needs to submit one of the following documents as proof for his Net Annual Income

(i) For Singapore Citizen and Permanent Residents

· Copy of pay slip (dated within 3 months) or

· Copy of bank statement with salary credit (dated within 3 months) or

· Copy of most recent income tax return or

· Original letter of employment stating position and income (issued by HR within 3 months)

(ii) For foreigners, in addition to the above documents

· A copy of employment pass and

· Passport
